Gala Spa Awards

Sebastian Copeland receives GALA SPA AWARD for active environmental protection

This year’s GALA SPA AWARD in the category Special Prize goes to multi-award-winning photographer and environmentalist Sebastian Copeland. Copeland will receive the award for his dedicated work in the area of environmental protection, which has impressively generated awareness for the threats facing Antarctica and the dangers of global warming.

“Sebastian Copeland has been actively involved in protecting the environment for many years. His photos of the Antarctic document the breathtaking beauty of an endangered paradise. Copeland’s work is more than a show of dedication to the environment. His fascinating photos convey a deep sense of introspection and the knowledge of being part of a whole”, said Peter Lewandowski, Editor-in-Chief of GALA and a member of the jury.

Sebastian Copeland lives in Los Angeles. He will accept the award given by the weekly people’s and lifestyle magazine GALA in person on 20 March. The jury awards the Special Prize annually in recognition of outstanding professional implementation of the spa concept. Around 200 top-class guests attend the glamorous awards ceremony in the Brenner’s Park Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden. Presenter Barbara Schöneberger leads guests through the evening together with the jury and prominent sponsors. The event will be accompanied by music from Echo award winner Cassandra Steen.
